Direct Primary Care

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a model that helps patients get better care by removing 3rd party companies like insurance companies. Insurance companies can often deny paying for certain treatments or lab studies and working directly with a doctor eliminates that problem. Direct Primary Care also affords patients more access to doctors. Read our DPC articles here.

YOU MATTER…Just The Way You Are!

A message everyone needs to hear.

You matter. The person you are right now, sitting here reading this post, matters. You don’t have to be some perfect version of yourself to be worthy of love, connection, and support. You deserve all of those things just as you are.

Dr. Travis Simmons explains the importance of patients hearing the words YOU MATTER from their doctor and making them feel that way through their actions.

Does Your Physician Spend Quality Time With You?

Have you ever felt like your doctor didn’t have time for you?

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a different approach to healthcare that allows doctors to spend more time with patients. In traditional healthcare settings, doctors often feel rushed and patients may feel like their doctor doesn’t have time for them.

Dr. Travis Simmons discusses his frustration not only of being a physician who was forced to spend little time with his patients but also as a patient where his own doctor was not able to spend quality time addressing his care. Dr. Simmons explains why direct primary care is different and embraces the idea of genuine care with meaningful doctor/patient relationships.

Surgery or PT?

Why try PT first?

For the vast majority of people and injuries, working with a good physical therapist can be enough to completely rehab the injury without the need for surgery. Even if surgery ends up being necessary, spending time with a physical therapist beforehand can significantly benefit your recovery and rehabilitation after the procedure.

Dr. Travis Simmons educates about the importance of trying physical therapy whenever possible before jumping straight to surgery. Oftentimes a surgeon will make the same recommendation and they’ll even recommend doing PT after surgery.
