What is sleep apnea?

Sleep apnea is a common condition where a person stops breathing during sleep, impacting their health in the long run, including the risk of heart disease, stroke, and dementia. Normal people stop breathing for 10 seconds or longer, about three times an hour, but if it’s more than that, it meets the criteria for sleep apnea.
