World mental health day was October 10th, and I want to encourage everyone to get the help they might be needing. Anxiety and depression are on the rise and stressful circumstances continue. We are still seeing the impact of the pandemic on our daily lives be that economic, political or financial. Many of my patients tell me they coped with the stress of the pandemic by drinking more alcohol than before or eating less healthy foods. For many, physical fitness fell by the wayside as well. These can be hard habits to change, but drinking less alcohol, eating a healthy diet, spending time outdoors, moving our bodies, and seeing a doctor or therapist can have powerful effects on our mental health. We are here for you at DirectMed DPC and understand the challenges the past few years have brought. Be it stress, weight gain, depression, anxiety, insomnia, substance use or other mental illness, we can help you at DirectMed DPC.
